Walking in the park, after the latest heavy snow has all gone, I noticed that some of the trees had 'shadows' of twigs beneath them. I've not noticed this before, and I think it must be due to the weight of the snow on the smaller branches causing them to snap off, so a few weeks worth of naturally shed twigs all happen at the same time.
