I noticed several of these beautiful patterns on the road today. Oil spillages are nothing new, and there are often a range of colours to be seen, but I don't recall seeing such well defined shapes before. These were in an area where the lying snow had just melted, and I wonder if that had something to do with the way the oil slicks developed.
